The Patriotic Yard Contest has a Winner!

West Geauga Kiwanis was not able to have our Independence Day Parade this year, so in lieu of it, we had a contest where families’ lawns were judged based on their patriotism. The turnout was great the first Most Patriotic Yard Contest, sported some hard choices. Joel Cohen and his son Robert took 1st prize, and Joel is no stranger to winning awards. He has won trophies for his floats in the Kiwanis Independence Day Parade as well. His large yard on Caves Rd. had wonderful patriotic symbolism and it was evident that a lot of hours and creativity went into his patriotic yard masterpiece. He received a trophy and a gift certificate for his family to the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast next spring. Second place went to Audry Edmunds for her beautiful display on Cedar Rd. She will also receive a Kiwanis gift certificate. Thank you to all who participated!
