KIWANIS HONORS 2010 INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
GRAND MARSHALL


The West Geauga Kiwanis Club honors Tony Podojil as the Grand Marshall of this year's Independence Day Parade!

Tony Podojil, Ph.D., is the superintendent of West Geauga Local Schools, a district in western Geauga County with approximately 2,500 students.  With Dr. Podojil's leadership the district has achieved an overall "excellent" rating by the Ohio Department of Education seven consecutive years and received the  new "Excellent with Distinction" rating for the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 school years.  After 15 years with West Geauga, Dr. Podojil has accepted the position of Executive Director for the Alliance for High Quality Education and will be leaving West Geauga Schools when his contract expires Aug. 1, 2010.

Dr. Podojil is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Education at John Carroll University.  An advocate of school/community/business collaboration, Dr. Podojil is actively involved as a member of the Alliance for High Quality Education, the Lake/Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation (LEAF)  Board, the West Geauga Kiwanis Club and the Chesterland Rotary Club, in addition to his position on the  Geauga County United Way Board, Dr. Podojil and his wife Karen are the parents of three sons and live in Painesville Township.
