West
Geauga Kiwanis
Club’s “100 Bags of Hope”food
donation
project was founded in 2017 to help
fight children’s hunger in our local
community. The Goal is to provide 100
Bags of groceries to needy families with
Children during the winter season when
too many families have to make the
decision to pay the heating bill or buy
groceries.100 bags of Groceries is
about 2500 lbs. of food, or slightly
over One Ton of food. West Geauga
Kiwanians pack the bags, along with many
other volunteers in the community, and
then donates the bags of groceries to
West Geauga Jobs and Family Services
(JFS) food bank, local food pantries,
Geauga County Veterans food pantry.
The
food drive was
inspired by a Kiwanian Spouse (Maureen
Kilroy) and Andrew’s Spirit of Hope, a
local
charity.
